Study Reveals Cashew’s Secret Content for Treating Impaired Nerves
The protective sheath called myelin that's covering the nerves is impaired by specific illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, resulting in chronic pain, as time passes, severe dysfunction.
Stopping, or, in circumstances where the illness has already advanced, a study indicates, "Reversing the demyelination" is essential to treat the illnesses, something that is said to be impossible yet, in any fundamental manner.
The said research indicated that a compound discovers in cashew shells has the potential to provide a solution. Past research by Subramaniam Sriram, the said study's senior author, found that IL-33. This protein can be used to induce the myelin sheath's construction around nerves, on top of controlling the immune system.
The most recent study from the author discovered that a compound found in cashew shells known as anacardic acid could potentially be used to contribute to the treatment of certain illnesses involving "demyelination."

Reduces Severity of Illness
In this research, attention was diverted and focused on anacardic acid as it prevents an enzyme that affects gene expression known as "acetyltransferase."
Notably, preventing this particular enzyme activates the production of IL-33 production, the protein that controls the immune system and activates the construction of myelin.
Specifically, a demyelination illness, also known as multiple sclerosis, is an autoimmune disorder resulting from the immune system which attacks the own nerves of the body.
Research which had animals as models found that, among other things, treating animals with demyelination using cashew shells lowered the severity of their condition, specifically, paralysis.
Study authors noted that animals treated using anacardic acid presented that myelination rises that were dose-reliant, too.
However, this does not mean, a regular person can use cashew shells to treat nerves impaired by demyelination. However, it indeed gives way to additional studies that may result in new and more efficient options for treatment.
Relative to the study, Sriram said the results "are striking that clearly urge further research" of anacardic acid for demyelinating illnesses.

Other Benefits of Cashew
The nutrition that cashew in general has is among the best nutrition forms available. An excellent consumption on a regular basis can provide you with nutrition that replenishes your body's several spheres.

Studies present that the benefits of cashew are "spread over numerous spheres of the nerves and bones of a human." More so, it is famous for being excellent in maintaining healthy teeth and skin, too.
Experts claim that the health benefits of cashew are extensive as it impacts even some minute characteristics of the body.
Specifically, cashews' phosphorus content considerably helps the bones. Specifically, it functions to provide healthier and stronger bones.
Furthermore, the magnesium found in cashews helps in the improvement of nerve coordination. It also works for the enhancement of "nerve health and reaction."
Magnesium in cashew can be advantageous, too, in a way that it enhances the immune system by helping them respond considerably faster to risks within the body.
