4 Best Home Remedies for Blackheads

Here are 4 of the most effective home remedies that will help you get rid of blackheads. Read on and find out if the things mentioned below are just within reach at home:

1. Treat Your Blackheads with Baking Soda and Water

This is a common ingredient in the kitchen that you may not have realized you can remove blockheads with it. Dr. Dane said baking soda contributes to neutralizing any pH imbalance the skin may have and function as an exfoliant to eliminate dirt, oil, and dead skin cells.

Use baking soda to get rid of your blackheads by mixing two tablespoons of the ingredients and two tablespoons of water to form a paste.

To use this on your blackheads, mix two tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of water together to form a paste.

Massage the formed paste on your face, rinse it off with warm water, and then apply moisturizer after. This mixture could result in your skin's dryness, so you should not use it for more than three days each week.

2. Tea Tree Oil is Another Effective Remedy

According to skin experts, you can apply tea tree oil directly to the affected part to help blackheads, specifically on your nose and chin.

The better thing about tea tree oil is that it functions by partially killing bacteria. Tea tree oil is available in some products such as soaps, cream, and toner. You can find it in essential oil, too.

3. Use Face Masks to Treat Blackheads

New York City-based dermatologist Whitney Bowe, MD, said using a natural face mask to treat blackheads is an easy and effective way to reduce them.

The method of Dr. Bowe uses only egg whites and tissue. First, simply whisk one egg white and apply it to your skin. Be sure our skin is clean when you do the step.

Then, layer the tissue over your face but do not cover your eyes or mouth. Then, apply another layer of egg white and leave the mask on your face to dry for 20 minutes; then, simply peel the dried mask off. This is a proven effective natural remedy if you have acne-prone skin.

4. Green Tea, Not for Drinking but for Application on Your Face

You read it right. You are not supposed to drink green tea this time. Instead, apply it to your face. According to Dr. Dane, green tea can help reduce your skin's oil production and work as an effective antioxidant.

Here's what you should do: Mix a teaspoon of dry green tea leaves with a teaspoon of water. Massage the mixture into the affected part for three minutes.

Next, rinse the mixture off and apply some moisturizer. This remedy can be used for three days each week.
